About Us

What is the BCM?

The BCM is a Christian college ministry open to all MTSU students.  It is supported by the Southern Baptist Churches in Rutherford County.  We exist to connect college students to Christ and each other.  It's all about relationships!  We believe a relationship with Christ is the true foundation to finding direction, purpose, and significance in life.  The friends come along to courage and strengthen us and vice versa!  We offer opportunities to deepen these relationships, through worship, small groups, community, and missions.

What do we do?

Weekly:

Wednesday: Noonday 11:35 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. - Build relationships, be challenged by a brief devotional, and take a break from class!  Cost is $3 or free for all first timers.  This is a great place to get to know new friends and get a good home cooked meal.

Thursday:  Manna 7:00 - 8:15 p.m. - Collegiate worship and Bible study at the BCM.  Join us for worship led by a student praise band and a meaningful Bible study designed just for college students.

Other:

Intramural Teams, Student Praise Band, Retreats, Mission Trips, Student Leadership Team, Girl's Prayer Time, Guy's Bible Study, Etc.

Why do I need to be part of a religious group at college?

College life can be crazy, busy, and tough!  Finding life-long friendships and growing in your relationship with God can make all the difference.  College life can be stressful, but it doesn't have to be.  Come check out the BCM, we would love for you to be a part.  Find friends, learn about God, get some questions answered, and find your place on campus.

Do I have to be Baptist to participate?

Nope!  You do not have to be Baptist to come, everyone is welcome!  And you don't have to "join" the BCM, you just come to whatever fits your schedule!

What does your ministry believe?  Are there doctrinal requirements to participate?

There are no doctrinal requirements to participate.  Everyone is welcome!  We are a joint ministry of the Southern Baptist Churches in Rutherford County, so our staff are members of local Baptist churches and hold to the Baptist doctrine and teaching.

How is your ministry different from other groups on campus?

We exist to connect students to Christ through missions, worship, community, and simply walking with each other in life for strength and support.  We encourage students to find a local church to be part of while they are here at MTSU.  We will help you do that with our Church Road Trip that we have each fall.  Each summer, students can be part of Tennessee BCM Summer Missions, along college students from campuses across the state.  Students can have chances to use their talents and abilities on out Student Leadership Team (SLT).
